The 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is designed for convenience, featuring open coat aluminum oxide discs with an adhesive backing that allows for quick attachment to a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). This disc roll eliminates the need for disc liners, improving productivity and ease of use. Specifically designed for random orbital sanders, the discs are crafted from long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a lightweight paper backing, making them suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing tasks. The open coat and load-resistant coating prevent dust loading, extending the service life of the discs, which are ideal for general sanding and finishing applications across various substrates such as paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass. The discs come ready for use with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the backside for convenient attachment and clean removal, ensuring an uncontaminated surface for subsequent discs. Open coat construction allows dust and debris to collect in the spaces between abrasive grains, reducing loading and enabling a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade, leading to faster results. This product features an A-weight light design.
