Detecto® 420 series digital precision balance scales are Class II legal for trade, suitable for weighing herbs, cannabis, gourmet coffee and tea, jewels, and precious metals (gold and silver) in retail environments with a precision of 10, 20, or 50 mg. The 420 series is NTEP and OIML legal for trade (excluding models 420-100 and 420-2000) and includes a built-in rechargeable battery, offering eight different units of measure. Each scale comes with a removable air shield for enhanced measurement accuracy (except for model 420-3000). The stainless steel platform dimensions are 5-11/16 in W x 4-1/2 in D (145 mm W x 115 mm D) for all models, while the 420-3000 model features a larger platform of 7-3/8 in W x 5-13/16 in D (188 mm W x 148 mm D). Overall scale dimensions are 8-5/8 in W x 11-1/2 in D x 3-3/16 in H (219 mm W x 292 mm D x 80 mm H). These scales can measure in grams, kilograms, metric carats, avoirdupois drams, ounces, pounds, grains, and penny weight. Notable features include a counting mode, RS232 serial port for printer output, a polycarbonate body with a stainless steel tray, and nearly one-inch-high (23 mm) bold digits with a blue backlight. The scales are designed for a variety of applications, including weighing chemicals and powders in laboratories, hospital use for weighing blood bags and medical waste samples, pill counting in pharmacies, recipe ingredient weighing, baking, soap making, inventory counting for small high-value items, and counting tokens at gaming centers.
