The FR hook and loop closure enhances usability, while the solid fabric is made from durable polyester material designed to be worn over arc-rated clothing only and is not intended for standalone use or over non-arc resistant apparel. The Type/Class R2 apparel is necessary for workers exposed to traffic traveling over 25 mph and working against complex backgrounds. It offers extended life as it is reusable and launderable, reducing costs and environmental impact. The PPE category rating is 2, as per NFPA classifications, with various FR hazardous risk category levels ranging from PPE 1 (low risk) requiring a minimum arc rating of 4 to PPE 4 (high risk) requiring a minimum arc rating of 40, with each level rated according to flame resistance measured in cal/cm².
