3M™ VentureClad™ insulation jacketing system 1577CW-WME is designed for cladding and jacketing applications, creating a vapor barrier for HVAC, ductwork, vessels, and pipes. This conformable tape conforms to curved or irregular surfaces, offering zero permeability, and installs without special tools. It is highly puncture and tear resistant, suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and withstands temperatures ranging from -40 °F (-40 °C) to 248 °F (120 °C). The tape is compatible with materials such as fiberglass, polystyrene, and conformable aerogel, providing protection against mold, UV, weather, oil, grease, chemicals, impact, mechanical abuse, and corrosion under insulation (CUI). It is UL723 classified and qualifies for LEED® v4 compliance credit. The embossed white aluminum exterior offers chemical resistance and an attractive finish, while the flexible backing allows easy installation on irregular surfaces. Tested according to ASTM E84, the material includes an aggressive pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that bonds and seals immediately on contact, even in cold temperatures, meeting or exceeding most building code requirements.
