3M™ VentureClad™ Insulation Jacketing System 1577CW-WM is designed for cladding and jacketing applications, providing a vapor barrier for HVAC, ductwork, vessels, and pipes. This conformable white aluminum laminate tape is highly puncture and tear resistant, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and can withstand temperatures ranging from -40 °F/-40 °C to 248 °F/120 °C. It is compatible with materials like fiberglass, polystyrene, and conformable aerogel, protecting insulation from mold, UV, weather, oil, grease, chemicals, impact, mechanical abuse, and corrosion under insulation (CUI). The tape features zero permeability, acts as a vapor barrier, and meets or exceeds most building code requirements, including UL723 classification and compliance credit for LEED® v4. Tested according to ASTM E84, it installs easily without special tools due to its flexible backing and an aggressive pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that bonds effectively even in cold temperatures.
