The nonwoven fiber construction conforms well to irregular or contoured surfaces, while the Roloc™ backing supports the disc for aggressive cutting. The open-web fiber construction runs cool and resists loading, with aluminum oxide abrasives providing a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. The aluminum oxide mineral used in these discs is tough, durable, self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, and is suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on a wide variety of substrates, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive system integrates abrasive minerals into nonwoven nylon or synthetic fibers, which deliver consistent results over the product's life, reduce the risk of discoloration and warping due to low heat, resist loading, and extend the disc’s lifespan by limiting clogging.
