The three-arm Secure Grip overhead drum lifter is designed exclusively for lifting closed-head and open-head 55 gallon steel drums with a secured lid installed, and is not intended for use on open-head steel drums without a lid. It also works on select 55 gallon plastic and fiber drums that have a top lip strong enough to support the drum's weight. The unit is designed for quick and easy one-person operation with the drum in a vertical position and features a narrow profile ideal for picking up drums packed closely together. Constructed from ductile iron for maximum strength and simplicity, the three-arm design allows for centering the drum under the lifter. A polyurethane "spring" loop maintains a secure engagement with the drum, providing added safety in rough environments, and the unit must be manually disengaged after use. The patented design includes a large lifting ring compatible with most overhead lifting mechanisms. This drum lifter complies with OSHA General Industry rule 1910.179 and ASME B30.20 standards, and was designed in Australia where it has received several awards.
