The Merit chrome plated brass Schedule 40 nipple measures 2 inches by 3 inches NPT male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, identified as Alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and significantly more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as they do not dezincify. Brass provides excellent corrosion resistance against water and heat and withstands exposure to salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils present in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, these nipples are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating not only offers durability but also makes the nipples easy to clean, resistant to dirt and bacteria accumulation, and helps maintain a shiny finish.
