The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple is designed with dimensions of 1/4 inch x 3 inches and features NPT male threading. Manufactured from seamless red brass pipe (alloy 230), these chrome plated brass nipples provide superior machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, which can dezincify. This material offers excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals, making it suitable for various applications, including commercial plumbing, OEM applications, as well as oil, gas, and steam.
