The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 3/4 x 4 NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and significantly more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as they do not experience dezincification. Brass provides excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals, making it suitable for use in peaty soils contained in water. While primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, brass is also applicable in oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating allows for easy cleaning, does not attract dirt or bacteria, and helps maintain a shiny finish. The product comes with a warranty.
