The Merit chrome plated brass Schedule 40 nipple measures 3/4 x 5-1/2 NPT male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, which is alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and more corrosion-resistant than yellow brass, as they will not dezincify. The brass material provides good corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils commonly found in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, this nipple is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating enhances cleanliness by preventing dirt and bacteria accumulation while maintaining a shiny finish.
