The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple is a 2 x 5 NPT male fitting made from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. These chrome plated brass nipples are designed for enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, effectively preventing dezincification. Brass provides good resistance to corrosion from water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils.
