The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches and features a male NPT connection. Made from seamless red brass pipe alloy 230, these chrome plated brass nipples are designed for enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as they will not dezincify. The brass construction provides good corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, this nipple is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. Additionally, the chrome plated brass design allows for easy cleaning, prevents dirt and bacteria accumulation, and maintains a shiny finish.
