The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1-1/2 inches by 6 inches with NPT male threads and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, Alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and more corrosion resistant than yellow brass, as they do not dezincify. Brass provides good corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, these nipples are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating facilitates easy cleaning, prevents dirt and bacteria accumulation, and helps maintain a shiny finish. The product complies with standard schedule 40 dimensions and specifications and includes the durability and corrosion resistance typical of red brass alloy 230.
