The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 3/8 x 2 NPT male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. The chrome plating provides enhanced corrosion resistance and the nipples are easier to machine and less brittle compared to yellow brass, which prevents dezincification. This brass offers excellent resistance to water, heat, saltwater, acids, and minerals, making it suitable for a variety of applications. While primarily used in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, it is also effective in oil, gas, and steam applications.
