The Merit chrome plated brass Schedule 40 nipple measures 3/8 inch by 3 inches with NPT male threads. Manufactured from seamless red brass pipe alloy 230, these chrome plated red brass nipples offer easier machining, increased durability, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as they do not dezincify. Brass provides good resistance to corrosion from water and heat and withstands attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils commonly found in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, these nipples are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
