The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 2 x 6 NPT male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, which is alloy 230. This chrome plated red brass nipple features enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and significant corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it does not dezincify. The brass material provides good resistance to corrosion from water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils, making it ideal for commercial plumbing and OEM applications. Additionally, the nipple is suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating not only offers ease of cleaning but also prevents the attraction of dirt and bacteria while maintaining a shiny finish.
