The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple, with dimensions of 1 x 6 NPT male, is constructed from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This chrome plated red brass nipple is designed for superior machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, thereby eliminating the risk of dezincification. It provides excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals often found in peaty soils. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, this brass nipple is also effective in oil, gas, and steam applications.
