The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 3/8 x 4 NPT male and is made from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This chrome plated red brass nipple is designed for superior machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, effectively preventing dezincification. It offers good corrosion resistance to water and heat while also resisting attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. Primarily used in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, brass nipples are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
