The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1/2 inch by 7-1/2 inches NPT male. It is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically Alloy 230, known for being easier to machine, less brittle, and more corrosion-resistant than yellow brass due to its resistance to dezincification. This brass offers good corrosion resistance to water and heat and withstands attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
