The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1/8 x 1-1/2 NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This type of nipple is known for being easier to machine, less brittle, and significantly more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass offers excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals, making it suitable for commercial plumbing and OEM applications. Additionally, it is applicable in oil, gas, and steam environments.
