The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1/4 x 3-1/2 NPT male and is constructed from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This chrome plated red brass nipple is designed for enhanced machinability, lower brittleness, and superior resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it does not dezincify. Brass delivers good corrosion resistance against water and heat, while also resisting attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water.
