The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 2 x 4 NPT male and is crafted from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are designed for enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as they will not dezincify. Brass provides good corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and the minerals found in peaty soils. This material is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but it also serves well in oil, gas, and steam applications.
