The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1 x 5-1/2 inches with NPT male threading. Constructed from seamless red brass pipe alloy 230, these chrome plated brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and exhibit superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, eliminating the risk of dezincification. The brass composition provides good corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals in peaty soils found in water. This nipple is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. Chrome plated brass nipples are favored for their ease of cleaning, resistance to dirt and bacteria, and ability to maintain a shiny finish. The product includes a limited warranty.
