The Merit Chrome Plated Brass Schedule 40 Nipple measures 3/8 x 7 NPT male and is crafted from seamless red brass pipe, specifically Alloy 230. This chrome plated red brass nipple offers superior machinability and is less brittle, providing enhanced resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, effectively preventing dezincification. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and the minerals and peaty soils found in water. Primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating not only makes the nipples easy to clean but also ensures they resist attracting dirt and bacteria while maintaining a shiny finish.
