The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1/4 x 1-1/2 NPT male and is constructed from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. These chrome plated brass nipples exhibit superior machinability and are less brittle, providing enhanced resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as they will not dezincify. The material offers good corrosion resistance against water and heat while also resisting the effects of salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils in water.
