The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1-1/2 x 5 inches with NPT male threading. These chrome plated brass nipples are manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, composed of alloy 230, which provides them with enhanced machinability and reduced brittleness compared to yellow brass, while also offering superior corrosion resistance, preventing dezincification. The brass material exhibits excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils. Primarily designed for use in commercial plumbing and OEM applications involving water, the nipples are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating not only facilitates easy cleaning and prevents dirt and bacteria accumulation but also ensures the maintenance of a shiny finish.
