The Merit Brass 125 lb lead-free fitting 1/4" cross NPT female is made of red brass and is suitable for low-pressure applications involving water, oil, and gas (W.O.G.). These fittings have pressure ratings of 125 psi for steam and 200 psi for W.O.G., complying with ANSI B 1.20.1 and ANSI B 16.15 standards. They provide superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, and the material's relative softness enables easy installation and a tight seal. Brass fittings are primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, as well as in oil, gas, and steam systems.
