Bare Ground Clear Way potassium acetate provides fast and reliable anti-icing and deicing performance and contains no damaging chlorides, glycols, or methanols. It is completely water soluble, readily biodegradable, non-flammable, and safer for bridges and roadway surfaces. The product meets FAA specifications and can be applied to runways, taxiways, and bridge applications. It has a low freeze point of -4°F, making it suitable for environmentally sensitive areas. Potassium acetate is generally applied undiluted using existing spray equipment that can uniformly apply the liquid to pavement surfaces. When spray application rates are adjustable, potassium acetate should be applied at 0.5 gallons per 1000 ft² of surface area, with higher rates up to 1.5 gallons per 1000 ft² allowed based on experience. Low spray pressures that produce large droplet sizes are preferred for application.
