Bare Ground Clear Way potassium acetate provides fast and reliable anti-icing and deicing performance without containing damaging chlorides, glycols, or methanols. It is completely water soluble, readily biodegradable, non-flammable, and safer for bridges and roadway surfaces. Clear Way potassium acetate meets FAA specifications and can be applied to runways, taxiways, bridge applications, and other pavements. It has a low freeze point of -4°F, making it an ideal deicer for environmentally sensitive areas. Potassium acetate is generally applied undiluted using existing spray equipment that applies the liquid uniformly to the pavement. When adjustable, the spray application rate is typically 0.5 gallons per 1000 ft² of surface area treated, with higher rates up to 1.5 gallons per 1000 ft² as experience dictates. In general, low spray pressures creating large droplet sizes are preferred for application.
