Product Details
Qualitative cellulose filter papers perform separation by entrapping particulate within the random matrix of cellulose fibers throughout the depth of the media and are widely used in methods requiring the determination and identification of particulate in both liquids and gas. This natural fiber filter paper is commonly used to clarify liquid samples and is easier and more convenient than flat filters when used in a filter funnel, with a sharply creased prefolded pattern that reduces preparation time. It is widely applied for general laboratory separation, clarification applications, and soil analysis methods. Quantitative cellulose filter papers are primarily used in gravimetric analysis procedures, entrapping particulate within the random cellulose fiber matrix, and are also used to prepare samples for further testing with various instrumentation. These high-quality filter papers are manufactured from refined pulp and alpha linters, acid washed with extremely low ash content determined by dry method exposure at 900°C in a muffle furnace; retention is nominally 98% efficiency for particulate in liquid, and flow rates are measured relative to comparable products. The basis weight is the nominal weight per meter squared, indicated in grams at 8% moisture, and thickness is measured under 4 psi using TAPPI method T411. The papers may be supplied as flat stock in sheets, rolls, or die-cut parts, or as fluted with 1/4 or 1/2 quadrant funnel folding. Surface qualities are stated relative to comparable products. These filter papers meet applicable certifications and compliance standards for laboratory use and come with warranty information according to manufacturer terms.
