Product Details
Qualitative cellulose filter papers perform separation by entrapping particulate within the random matrix of cellulose fibers in the depth of the media, widely used in methods requiring determination and identification of particulate in liquids and gases. This natural fiber filter paper clarifies liquid samples and features a sharply creased prefolded pattern that reduces preparation time, making it more convenient than flat filters when used in a filter funnel. It is widely employed for general laboratory separation, clarification applications, and soil analysis methods. Quantitative cellulose filter papers are primarily used in gravimetric analysis procedures, also entrapping particulate within the cellulose fiber matrix, and are used to prepare samples for further testing with various instruments. These high-quality filter papers are manufactured from refined pulp and alpha linters, acid washed, and have an extremely low ash content determined by a dry method at 900°C in a muffle furnace. Filter media nomenclature is serialized without grade or quality indication, with furnished raw materials used in the wet laid product. Nominal retention of particulate is 98% efficiency in liquid, with flow being the liquid flow rate relative to comparable products. Basis weight is the nominal weight per square meter at 8% moisture, and thickness is measured under 4 psi using TAPPI Method T411. Papers are available in flat stock supplied as sheets, rolls, or die-cut parts, or fluted formats with 1/4 or 1/2 quadrant funnel folding. Warranty terms apply as specified by the manufacturer.
