The kit features a complex proprietary fused 100% polypropylene (PP) fibrous matrix, which is a lightweight polyolefin known for its high chemical resistance to most short-term exposure of organic solvents, acids, and alkalis. It has a basis weight of 290 g/m², sufficient to easily handle typical lab bench volume spills up to 600 ml safely and quickly. The material lays flat as a bench pad with sufficient stiffness, reducing the "bunch up" seen with other competing brands, while being soft enough to be used as a wipe. Binding dots accumulate fluids and migrate them deeper into the pad, enhancing its absorption capacity.
