The kit features a complex proprietary fused 100% polypropylene (PP) fibrous matrix, which is a lightweight polyolefin with high chemical resistance to most short-term exposure of organic solvents, acids, and alkalis. It has a basis weight of 290 g/m2, sufficient to easily handle typical lab bench volume spills up to 600 ml safely and quickly. The material lays flat as a bench pad with sufficient stiffness to reduce "bunch up" commonly seen with other competing brands, and it is soft enough to be used as a wipe. Binding dots accumulate fluids and help migrate them deeper into the pad, enhancing absorption and containment. The package includes the pad with these specifications and material properties.
