The kit features a complex proprietary fused 100% polypropylene (PP) fibrous matrix, which is a lightweight polyolefin offering high chemical resistance to most short-term exposure of organic solvents, acids, and alkalis. It has a 290g/m² basis weight, sufficient to safely and quickly handle typical lab bench volume spills up to 600ml. The material lays flat as a bench pad with enough stiffness to reduce the "bunch up" common with other competing brands, while remaining soft enough to be used as a wipe. Binding dots within the matrix accumulate fluids and migrate them deeper into the pad, enhancing fluid containment.
