The kit includes disposable Luer-Lok™ and pressure fitting components ultrasonically bonded for reliability, with filter media type clearly inscribed on the barrel to ensure excellent unit-to-unit and lot-to-lot reproducibility and consistency. The housing is made of high purity virgin polypropylene with no dyes or pigments added. Each unit is available as an individually wrapped gamma sterilized pack. The unique concentric funnel-shaped barrel design increases volume and decreases back pressure. The filter membrane is made of polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF), which is hydrophobic and features stability and hydrophobic interactions similar to PTFE. It is especially recommended for filtration of water-soluble oligomers and polymers, such as protein solutions, and can also be used for filtration of hydrophobic substances in various organic solvents.
