The kit includes PTFE membranes which are inherently hydrophobic and ideal for the filtration of nonpolar liquids and gases, exhibiting high resistance to solvents, acids, and bases. These membranes can be made more hydrophilic by flushing with alcohol followed by water, allowing their use in filtering and de-gassing chromatography solvents and permitting optimal utilization of small sample volumes.
