The binder-free glass microfiber is used for the determination of total suspended solids (Standard Method 2540 D and EPA Method 160.2) and volatile suspended solids. The common thimble applications include the 934-AH® pre-washed and weighed filters for high heat applications greater than 550°C, which are washed, dried, desiccated, and fired to 550°C. These filters are weighed to a 4 decimal place resolution and are an industry standard 934-AH® glass microfiber filter, ready to use, meeting requirements for use with volatile suspended solids (VSS) and total suspended solids (TSS) analysis. They compare to Whatman RTU series, Environmental Express Pro Weigh series, and Ahlstrom Munksjo 169W series. The pre-washed version is packaged within a plastic container in stacks without pans or barcoding, while the pre-washed and weighed version is packaged individually in a pan with a human-readable serial number, weight, and barcode. Both versions reduce workflow by removing several preparation steps for filters and provide superior levels of quality assurance.
