Product Details
Qualitative cellulose filter papers perform separation by entrapping particulate within the random matrix of cellulose fibers in the depth of the media and are widely used in methods requiring the determination and identification of particulate in both liquids and gas. This natural fiber filter paper is commonly used to clarify liquid samples and is more convenient than flat filters when used in a filter funnel, featuring a sharply creased prefolded pattern that reduces preparation time. These filters are widely used for general laboratory separation, clarification applications, and soil analysis methods. Quantitative cellulose filter papers are primarily used in gravimetric analysis procedures and perform separations similarly by entrapping particulate throughout the depth of the cellulose fiber matrix. They are utilized in sample preparation for further testing with various instrumentation and are manufactured from refined pulp and alpha linters, acid washed with an extremely low ash content. Filter paper terminology includes filter media naming, furnish referring to raw materials used in wet laid product manufacture, ash content measured by dry method exposure at 900°C in a muffle furnace, nominal retention at 98% efficiency in liquids, flow indicating liquid flow rate speed relative to comparable products, basis weight as grams per meter squared at 8% moisture, thickness measured under 4 psi using TAPPI method T411, flat or fluted stock supplied as sheets, rolls, or die-cut parts with fluted folding in 1/4 or 1/2 quadrant funnel, and surface stated relative to comparable products. Warranty information is included as per standard terms.
