The Nerp series of electric chain hoists from Harrington were designed using the latest technology and incorporating a push/pull trolley, resulting in high-quality, low headroom, full-featured hoists that provide reliable performance in both routine situations and severe working environments. Key features include "The Guardian" smart brake technology, which utilizes a current-driven electromagnetic brake that remains engaged unless the motor is energized, along with a Grade 80 nickel-plated load chain, a count hour meter that records and displays the number of lowering starts and hoist on time, and a five-pocket load sheave that reduces vibration and extends chain life. The cooler motor and brake benefits from a fan-cooled motor design, while low-profile upper and lower limit switches enhance functionality. Additionally, hoists include plug-in pendant and power supply cords. These hoists are UL listed to UL 1340, built environmentally friendly to meet RoHS requirements, and exceed ASME H4 duty rating. Each hoist comes with a test certificate verifying that it has been factory load tested to 125% of its rated capacity, in accordance with ASME B30.16.
