The TempAlert TA-40 is designed to activate hardwired or wireless alarm panels when the temperature drops below 39.5 F (4.2 C), providing protection against shattered pipes and subsequent water damage. This device requires no power to operate and can connect to most hardwired or wireless alarm systems, ensuring versatility in use. The compact size allows for an unobtrusive installation, while it is important to note that the TempAlert TA-40 should not be placed in a cooler or freezer environment and is intended for non-condensing environments only. The unit operates as a normally closed (N.C.) system at or above 39.5 F (4.2 C) and features N.C. dry contacts, which are not suitable for high voltage applications. With a fixed setting of N.C. >39.5 F (>4.2 C) and a temperature accuracy of 5.4 F (3.0 C), the unit also offers two screw holes for secure mounting.
