The Waterbug® Unsupervised Water Sensor ("W-S-U") is a water detection sensor specifically designed for use in environments such as computer rooms, document storage areas, warehouses, sump pumps, and basements. This sensor activates an alarm when a conductive bridge is formed between two contacts, effectively detecting the presence of water without alarming for high condensation. It is essential to use this sensor in conjunction with either the WB200 or WB350, as it is not designed as a stand-alone product. The kit includes a sensor with a cable length of 15 feet (4.6 meters) and supports the connection of up to six sensors located up to 100 feet (30.48 meters) away from the WB200 and WB350 devices, thereby providing extensive coverage. For extension of sensors from the device, 18-22 AWG twisted pair wire is recommended. To ensure reliable operation, it is important that the power supplied to the device does not have a connection to earth ground, as this could lead to detection failures or ground faults. The Waterbug sensor features a stable surface mount design.
