Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, with essential information clearly marked on the shim including material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. This shim is utilized in applications where corrosion problems exist, featuring low magnetic permeability. It has excellent forming qualities and may be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The shim measures 12" wide by 120" long by 0.008" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is widely used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is also suitable for short run and prototype work, as well as a variety of other industrial applications, particularly in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are crucial.
