Blue tempered shim is made from high carbon 1095 hardened and tempered spring steel. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, with essential information clearly marked on the shim, including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is suitable for various types of coiled and flat springs used in electrical assemblies and steel rules. This material is preferred by tool and die makers for its toughness and high fatigue strength, making it ideal for templates and shim applications. The dimensions of the shim are 6" wide by 25" long by 0.008" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly used in applications such as tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is particularly valuable for short run and prototype work, as well as a variety of other industrial uses, especially in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
