Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which includes essential information clearly marked on the shim: material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. This shim is particularly suitable for applications where corrosion issues arise and features low magnetic permeability. Its excellent forming qualities allow it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions measure 6" wide by 18" long by 0.015" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines, as well as short run and prototype work, along with various other industrial applications. It is especially beneficial for pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are crucial.
