The assorted kit includes six 6" wide by 12" long sheets of blue tempered shim, featuring one sheet each of the following thicknesses: 0.005", 0.010", 0.015", 0.020", 0.025", and 0.032". Made from high carbon 1095 hardened and tempered spring steel, Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which has essential information clearly marked on each shim, including material type, thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim stock is utilized in various applications such as coiled and flat springs, electrical assemblies, and steel rules. It is preferred by tool and die makers for template and shim applications requiring toughness and high fatigue strength. Common uses include tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, mounting of motors and pumps, and short-run or prototype work.
