The Steel shim is constructed from a full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel, making it ideal for applications requiring hardness, flatness, and accuracy. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer offering Branded® shim, which includes essential information directly marked on the shim, such as material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. This shim can be punched or sheared with minimal burr and distortion, and it measures 150mm wide x 2.5m long x 0.25mm thick. Precision Brand® shim stock finds extensive use in various applications including tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is particularly beneficial for short run and prototype work, especially in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
