Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which has essential information clearly marked on the shim, including material type, material thickness, and lot # for full traceability. This shim is designed for applications where corrosion problems exist and features low magnetic permeability, along with excellent forming qualities that allow it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 150mm wide x 2.5m long x 0.80mm thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines, making it suitable for short run and prototype work, as well as various other industrial uses, particularly in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are critical.
