Brass shim is constructed from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass. Precision Brand® is the sole manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which includes essential information clearly marked on the shim, such as material type, material thickness, and lot number for complete traceability. This shim is particularly beneficial in applications prone to corrosion and exhibits low magnetic permeability. It demonstrates excellent forming qualities and can be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. The dimensions of the shim are 12" wide, 120" long, and 0.015" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock finds extensive usage in various applications, including tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is also suitable for short run and prototype work, making it especially valuable for pilot production runs where material accuracy and cost-effectiveness are crucial.
