Brass shim is made from a half hard, cold rolled, 260 alloy brass, and is offered exclusively by Precision Brand® as Branded® shim. This shim features essential information clearly marked on its surface, including material type, material thickness, and lot number for full traceability. It is utilized in applications where corrosion issues are present and offers low magnetic permeability. The shim exhibits excellent forming qualities, allowing it to be lightly drawn, blanked, or stamped. Its dimensions are 6" wide by 180" long by 0.003" thick. Precision Brand® shim stock is commonly employed in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, and the mounting of motors, pumps, and other machines. It is also suitable for short run and prototype work, as well as a variety of other industrial applications, particularly in pilot production runs where material accuracy and economy are crucial.
